The Stuffed Shirt
A three-channel video installation. A "dressman", an automatic industrial ironing system, inflates shirts and trousers to the point of bursting, then lets them collapse. Shot on 16mm, the work gives the machine a brief, almost human presence.
I recorded and arranged the steam sounds of the ironing machinery and paired them with a looping, rising harp glissando.
